Move Beyond Hot Tips: Build Your Own Process
Why independent analysis and a defined process are more useful than chasing anonymous market tips.
A tip gives an answer without the reasoning
When a trader acts on an unexplained tip, important information is missing: why the trade exists, what would make the idea wrong, how much risk is appropriate and when the position should be reviewed. Without that context, managing the trade becomes difficult.
Independent decisions can be reviewed
A written process lets you compare what you intended to do with what actually happened. This creates feedback. A tip-based approach often leaves little to learn from beyond whether the price went up or down.
Be cautious with certainty
No one can guarantee market outcomes. Claims of assured or unusually easy returns should be treated cautiously. A healthier learning approach focuses on uncertainty, risk, due diligence and the ability to make your own informed decisions.
Education should increase independence
The purpose of learning market concepts is not to become dependent on another person for the next call. It is to understand how markets work, develop a process, practise risk management and gradually improve the quality of your own decisions.
